Bad News

Yesterday the kids and I were going on a family trip, and from there going away for the weekend. We had a lot planned and were bringing our dog along, but since she wasn't able to come to some places we were going (like a BBQ for single moms and their families) so I found a friend willing to watch her for a few hours in the city where we were staying.
Unfortunately, while we were at the barbecue, I got a call from the dog sitter that the dog ran out their door and they chased after her and weren't able to catch her, and eventually she ran out of sight.

I was with my kids at this BBQ on the other part of the city, and it was brutally hot out (about 110 degrees) and I needed to figure out what to do with them while I went to look for the dog, and once I found someone to watch the kids I went out with a friend with a car and scoured the parts of the city where she ran from but had no luck.
I posted on all the local facebook groups and WhatsApp groups that I could find, posting pictures and my phone number, and went around the neighborhood showing pictures of her and handing out my number, asking them to call me if they saw her..
Its been over 12 hours and still no leads.

I called the local vets to tell them about the dog and asking them to be on the lookout for her, but so far no one brought her in.

Fortunately Snickers is microchipped and that chip has her contact info on it, so we're very hopeful that we'll be able to find her and bring her home.

But right now we're all very scared for her and sad and not handling things well...

The hardest part of this all is she got lost in a city that she's not familiar with, so I don't know how easily she'd be able to find her way back. And I can't walk around that city every day scouring for her, because its far from where we live, but fortunately lots of people have been looking for her as well, going out in this extreme heat to try to find her....

If anyone has any other ideas of what we should do, I'd be happy to hear.

Additionally, we'd love prayers, warm thoughts, and good vibes headed our way.

We miss our dog a lot, and we're trying not to cry when we think about this.
