Since rainfall is poor, maybe think about a container garden. Something small. Planter here and there. Then take a 2 liter bottle, fill with water and shove it into the dirt. It will not drain all at once, but a little bit Ms. Hydehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/14969832156963697235noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1300660817354328186.post-29324168074897934392019-07-30T01:13:35.339+00:002019-07-30T01:13:35.339+00:00Astroturf is a BAD idea. Heat, cost, toxicity, environmental load, turf-burn, grows bacteria really well from bird, dog, cat feces so must be washed regularly.
This stuff is plastic. It usually contains lead as a color fixative to keep the green 'pretty'. The American Academy of Pediatrics and the CDC say there is NO safe level of lead exposure. The plastic rug also kills Diana Chttps://www.blogger.com/profile/12791000552053800870noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1300660817354328186.post-76841398543439121492019-07-29T16:58:45.637+00:002019-07-29T16:58:45.637+00:00I understand the frustration but wonder if you hav...I understand the frustration but wonder if you have read about the chemicals used in astroturf? Astroturf is made with plastic grass and shredded tire "infill" -- both of which are made from petroleum. They retain heat so on warm and/or sunny days they are often 50-60+ degrees hotter than the air or grass -- 150 degrees is not uncommon! And some of the same chemicals in shredded tireAnonymoushttps://www.blogger.com/profile/09580607006149982151noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1300660817354328186.post-41308798823647724682019-07-29T14:39:46.494+00:002019-07-29T14:39:46.494+00:00We have a small front garden (about 12 x 16 feet) ...We have a small front garden (about 12 x 16 feet) and bigger space in the backyard that was completely covered in concrete tile by the previous owners. For the front garden, I paid a landscape designer to come up with plants that would survive living there (it's very, very shady) and just bought the plants that she recommended (mostly). I wouldn't say anything has thrived, exactly, but Juleshttps://www.blogger.com/profile/15177864294778546164noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1300660817354328186.post-25558586170354611762019-07-29T13:54:19.020+00:002019-07-29T13:54:19.020+00:00Got my front yard done professionally, have an iss...Got my front yard done professionally, have an issue with the turf waiting for warranty results 🤬
Back yard is small rectangular so I put real grass for my dog and granddaughtersBrown and Kiesel OffRoad 2018https://www.blogger.com/profile/05644817461186575286noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1300660817354328186.post-49746697321847479122019-07-29T02:05:14.685+00:002019-07-29T02:05:14.685+00:00great idea! no grass cutting...no watering...just...great idea! no grass cutting...no watering...just vacuum when needed!Anonymoushttps://www.blogger.com/profile/16452144596986888235noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1300660817354328186.post-75313078292379041352019-07-28T21:19:13.017+00:002019-07-28T21:19:13.017+00:00Our yard is very shaded so the grass doesn't g...Our yard is very shaded so the grass doesn't grow well at all.
