So, here's what else my family did to save money this past week:
Free Things:
Got potatoes that someone was going to toss (perfectly good potatoes).
Got free cucumbers, beets, grapefruits, and eggplant from the farmer's market, as well as a free fish head.
Got a free silicon cake pan from a friend.
Got some free hair accessories from a friend who was decluttering.
Got some free past prime apples.
Frugal Shopping:
Bought super cheap produce from the market- some at 13 cents a pound, and a few other very cheap salmon heads.
My iherb order arrived.
Picked up my bulk order of spices, raisins, and pineapple.
Frugal In The Kitchen:
Made From Scratch
Made some homemade kombucha.
Made ground cooked gizzards, ground chicken, and ground raw gizzard- a super cheap ground beef sub- in my new grinder- and then turned the ground gizzard into shepherd's pie.
Made fermented beet salad out of 12 cent a pound beets- frugal probiotics!
Made some paleo tahini bread.
Made a gluten free vegan marble cake.
Frugal Cooking
Made chicken broth with chicken bones and chicken carcasses
Revamped leftover rice and chicken drippings into chicken rice soup.
Cooked salmon heads for supper.
Took wilty cucumbers that were a bit bitter, salted them and made them into a tasty Asian cucumber salad.
What did you do to save money this past week?
